THE SCENT OF SPRING

After a long winter…

Cainspirations by Kristi Cain, March 4, 2021

DISCOVERING DESTINY.

Overcoming Darkness.

How are you overcoming a season of darker days? Let’s journey together!

After 2020, we don’t have the most positive association with the month of March.

But with case counts dropping and vaccine counts rising, we may finally be at the start of a brand new season of a brand new year.

And if you think about it, that’s exactly what spring is. A time for new beginnings, new life, and new hope.

A time when the long night of the last 12 months will give way to the dawning of a much brighter day.

Even though the pandemic is far from over, we are already catching a whiff of the winds of change heading our way.

A time when the doors that left us quarantined and isolated for so long will open one by one.

It’s tempting to let anticipation beg the well-worn question: how much longer?

But the more important question may be: when opportunity decides to knock again in your life, how will you answer it?

And what better example for a time like this than our Savior whose passion and sacrifice we will soon be celebrating? Whose Lenten season of preparation we have just begun?

A man who saved all of humanity from the supernatural forces of evil who thought they owned us within the stretch of a three-year ministry and 33-year lifespan.

And we know he didn’t waste one moment of that opportunity.

So today, as we take in the scent of a new season and a new beginning in our lives, I want to challenge each of you to consider how you will spend your freer future, and whom you will strive to serve.

Sure, we’ll indulge ourselves a little.

But we also have a great opportunity to make a little less of ourselves and a little more of the God who brought us this far.

To hold the family and friends we have been apart from for too long a little closer.

To consider the needs of those less fortunate, whose battles will continue to rage long after the pandemic is over.

To consider the condition of our own souls, and the chance to give ourselves a better start.

And most of all, to let our hearts grow even bigger into a world that’s been waiting for the blessing only you can bring it.

YOUR TURN!

Don’t make me do all the talking – I’d love to hear from you!

  • What are you most looking forward to about spring?
  • How are you celebrating the season of Lent?
  • Do you want to hear about anything else? Any prayer requests?

Just shoot me an email – don’t be shy! And I promise to reply!
