But that’s okay!

DISCOVERING DESTINY.

Overcoming Darkness.

How are you overcoming the darkness of disappointment? Let’s journey together!

This was supposed to be Florida.

An oceanfront view. Sand between our toes. A tour of the Hemingway House for a splash of culture.

But this is not your typical year. And even when your great escape destination lands you in your own backyard, that can be okay, too.

While this has been a year of headlines, it has certainly not been one of clear destinations. Whether you’re stuck at home or stuck at work, dreading back-to-school or dreading online school, struggling to change plans yet again, weighing options you never thought you’d have to consider, we are all staring into the blank canvas of the unknown.

Disappointment, frustration, and downright discouragement have become our

“new normal.” A “normal” that we want to do anything but embrace.

We long to be back to the old “normal” which — although far from perfect — was a much better, safer place for all of us. A place of more predictability, more togetherness, and more light.

But instead we are stuck waiting. Stuck wondering. Stuck without family and friends. Just stuck.

And if you’ve ever experienced any other season of sorrow in your life before, the cumulative weight of it all can be crushing. It is so easy to let that bottomless pit draw you in – the lens of the present all-too-quickly connecting past disappointments to future dismay.

So easy to forget the same light that brought us through it all before will bring us through it all once more.

And as we travel through these uncharted waters, what if we discover that the challenges of finding our own compass has been God’s way of teaching us to find our true direction in Him?

To nudge us into the faith that one day the sun will set on this troubled, temporary chapter and lead us all into a much brighter day.

YOUR TURN!

Don’t make me do all the talking – I’d love to hear from you!

  • What have been your greatest sources of struggle through this time?
  • Have you found any sources of strength?
  • Do you want to hear about anything else? Any prayer requests?

Just shoot me an email – don’t be shy! And I promise to reply!
